Book Editing & Publishing
We can help with this process from soup to nuts. We offer:
- Editorial assessment: A professional, seasoned editor will review your concept and offer overall feedback.
- Developmental editing: This is a deeper dive into a manuscript. We’ll look at the structure of the book, inconsistencies in tone or narrative arc, and help refine your ideas.
- Copy editing: You’ve solved the big-picture issues; now, it’s time to take a closer look. The main focus of this stage is consistency: in voice, character, word choice, etc.
- Proofreading: If the copy editing stage if like taking a magnifying glass to the work, proofreading is the microscope. This is an extremely close read to make sure no grammar or spelling mistakes exist. If the book is in layout, this is also the time when we doublecheck all the page numbers, table of contents, and links.
- Page design and layout: We’ll work with you to decide the right look for your book: from trim size to font choice. And, of course, we’ll design a cover that will make your book sing!
- Publish: We can help you prepare your pitch for publishing houses or handle the process of self-publishing, including preparing the files, securing ISBNs, and converting into ebooks. You can also use our publishing house, Crown Publications.

Writing

Everyone has a story. And we love the opportunity to write them! Our founder, Richelle, began her publishing career in third grade, when a handwritten tome about a beautiful horse made its way into the Dewey Decimal system at her elementary school library. Over the years, she has interviewed thousands of people and shared their stories in newspaper articles, magazines, blogs, and internal communications sites. She’s ready to share your story next.
Copywriting and Proofreading
We want to help you share messages that truly connect with your audience. That may include jazzing up some ad chatter or social media posts or carefully reviewing your collateral to make sure that the message isn’t sabotaged by a typo or grammatical error. Our job is to make you look and sound good.
Strategic Communications
Ready for a communications makeover? Richelle and her team have developed and implemented strategic communications plans for several organizations. This work includes identifying stakeholders, evaluating current assets, and shaping the message and delivery devices to reach new audiences and strengthen current engagement.
